Tom Hewitt

Senior Physiotherapist

Tom is a highly motivated Sport and Exercise Science and Physiotherapy graduate with 10 years of experience in Physiotherapy, in both private practice and the NHS. His diverse background includes certificates in weight management and health improvement.

Tom has a keen interest in many sports but excelled in hockey.  With various elite honours in schoolboy age groups including international trials, he played National League hockey for both Beeston and Nottingham Hockey clubs.  Due to life commitments and various injuries Tom gradually transitioned into a successful and on going coaching career.

Having been active for many years he has picked up various injuries which when combined with his interest in biomechanics and anatomy led perfectly into a career in Physiotherapy. He feels these experiences as a patient alongside his extensive qualifications help him to empathise with his clients and encourages him to work with clients to achieve their goals.

He is passionate about the need to assess accurately, treat each client effectively and as an individual whilst reminding them that rehabilitation continues beyond being pain free.  With experience of working in; GP clinics, NHS hospitals, Occupational Health as well having previously worked with therapists from Team GB, Team Sky and Arsenal Football Club, his experience goes beyond working with just elite athletes.  He has trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), completed his AACP Acupuncture Foundation Course and continues to develop his skills to help each client he works with; pre, during or post injury.  Most recently as a runner he was interested in footwear choices, leading him to complete a course in Practical Podiatric Biomechanics. Further developing his understanding and knowledge continuing his unwavering passion for improvement, and thirst for knowledge.

Tom is a keen runner, cyclist and swimmer so is keen to complete his first triathlon within the next year… with the coming winter months he is also hopeful to get back on his snowboard.  He is often training for various events so will be happy to help you achieve whatever goal you may have in mind, Tom looks forward to welcoming you to Strong Lines.
